As a national and international speaker and worship leader, Mel Washington has emerged as a cross-culture and post-modern musician and leader of worship. Today he is bringing forth a message of change, relevance, and hope that is transcending our modern culture.

Born in Charleston, South Carolina, the youngest of 5, Mel Washington was raised around music. His father sang professionally for over 20 years. His mom, not so much a singer, but Mel’s passion for worship and God’s presence has definitely been handed down from her.

Having been involved in church music since he was 6 years old, Mel has been a part of a few different long-term ministry efforts. Having served on ministry teams at 3 different churches, Mel has gotten his feet wet with all kinds of church operations.

Mel’s communicating ability was stirred up while in high school competing in public speaking competitions, never thinking that speaking would be a part of his occupation or purpose in life.

Mel is also a very personable guy. It has often been said that if you want to find Mel you can look at Waffle House or Starbucks and he will be there.

Mel currently lives in Charleston, South Carolina and has the best friends and family anyone could ask for.
