Daily Thought - July 5, 2006 - Hallowed Be Thy Name
So, I figured that I would continue some thoughts on the Lord’s Prayer for the next couple of days. The next section says “Hallowed be your name.”
We can dissect this into two parts:
1) Hallowed: This word means to make holy or set apart..
2) Name: This word in this time refers to someone’s character and authority.
So, this raises a question. What would it look like if we were the kinds of people that make Christ’s character holy and set apart? Furthermore, how do we do that? What does that mean?
I come in contact with people all the time who have a terrible impression of Chrstianity.
Actually, most of the people I talk to have no problem with God. They have a real problem with Christians.
I wonder what ie means for us to with our lives set apart Christ’s character through our lives.
What are your thoughts? I’d love to hear.
